Craic Fest was founded be Terence Mulligan in 1998.

We are a nonprofit 501c (3) organization. Film Fleadh was started in 1999 to showcase the best of the New Irish Cinema to the New York City area.

In 2004, Film Fleadh expanded with a Music Series and CRAIC FEST was born. The scope of the festival changed two-fold and our audience doubled as well. The festival was renamed CRAIC FEST (best of Irish Cinemas & music from Ireland) Craic Fest, is now moving into its 22nd year of operation, It’s the “Premier Irish film festival in North America” – Daily News

We have screened over 350 films and numerous stars have walked through our doors. More importantly, we have served as a launching pad for those filmmakers. In 2010 we expanded to a Kids Fleadh as part of the Craic Fest. In 2011 we expanded to a Craic LGBT festival that showcases Irish Gay & Lesbian filmmakers every spring in NYC in conjunction with the Irish Arts Center & Scandanavia House. In the fall of 2015 we expanded to the Rockaway Oyster Fest.
